The Canal Olimpic de Catalunya was built for the 1992 Olympic Games. It’s one of the best sports venues in Europe for kayaking and other water sports. During the last years, several local Dragon Boat events have been hosted at this magnific venue.

Rules for mixed crews
-Premier: The average age of the boat should be aged under 40 by May 2024.
-Senior: The average age of the boat should be aged 40-60 by May 2024.
-Master: The average age of the boat should be aged 60 or over by May 2024.

Visit Barcelona and Castelldefels in a weekend. Take advantage of your stay at the festival to visit Barcelona and tour the coastal area of Castelldefels. Everything in a complet express full weekend package.

Discover Barcelona, Sitges, Castelldefels and also the magical Montserrat mountain, considered to be paradise for hikers and climbers for its unique terrain and captivating views but it also represents an exceptional spiritual spot with its Benedictine monastery.
Barcelona is one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe, with millions of people visiting every year. The city is famous for its 19th century Modernist architecture, mostly designed by Antonio Gaudí. The best known of those buildings -the unfinished church Sagrada Familia- is one of the symbols of Barcelona. The city is also famous for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympics as well as world-class conferences, expositions, and many international sport tournaments. Barcelona is not only architecture or sport. It is also sea. It’s mountains. It’s urban. It’s gastronomy. It’s history. It’s art. It’s culture. It’s many things at the same time. So there’s plenty of things to discover and to enjoy!
Boasting an enviable geographic location, Castelldefels is les than 20 minutes away from Barcelona city and its international airport. It offers a perfect combination of sea, endless beaches and a little bit of culture. Catelldefels is famous for its long beach that it has more than 5km and for being the place of residence of many sportsmen. In this area you can also enjoy countless experiences such as soaking up the essence of the Mediterranean coast practicing water sports, visiting the iconic mountain of Montserrat or wandering among the vines and touring the top wineries.

The organizing committee did a great job with the event as far as the venue, schedule, accommodations and medals. I thought EVERYTHING ran flawless. The precise timing of each race was rather remarkable. The party with the Zumba was a great touch.
I found the event to be very well organized, prompt and comfortable transportation, on time (even early) event starts, great venue choices, food at event and gala was excellent. Overall, I couldn’t ask for a more fun event, congratulations!
Everyone was very helpful and friendly and all ran to time. The enthusiasm created by the ever attentive staff was wonderful and ceremony itself was brilliant. I experienced a feeling of pride in myself and my team for competing in the races The staff was WONDERFUL. They went above and beyond to help us with things that were not part of the event. Very pleased! You built excitement & enthusiasm.

Boats and event organization was great. Opening ceremony and team presentation was fantastic. The placards with the names brilliant. Identifiable Tables for every team under the shade with water available, great idea. Music was brilliant and diverse, taking in consideration all cultural backgrounds. Running of the regatta and teams distribution was excellent. Overall a very positive experience that we hope to repeat. See you next year!
The Miami Dragon Slayers absolutely loved your event. You were thoroughly organized, even ordering up perfect weather for the races. Huge thank you to Sandra for answering the million emails and texts. She was always patient and thorough. Thank you for all your hard work and great preparations. The music was amazing!
Thank you Dragonboat Emotions for making this wonderful experience possible. After thinking about it for 2 editions we, Dragonette Torino, finally made it this year, and we will cherish every moment of this weekend in our hearts. Thank you and hope to see you again soon.

From Málaga Dragon Boat BCS we want to thank CN Folixa La Coruña for joining the mixed race with us, Suir Dragon Paddlers and Margaret for helping us get out in the BCS with 8, all the teams in this edition, especially the BCS and to the organization for do it easy, we return with energy, optimism and strength. Oh my goodness! Plurabelles from Dublin had the most wonderful time, met old paddling pals, made new friends, raced hard, & felt so privileged to participate in our beloved sport at an Olympic venue! COMPETITION FORMAT, CATEGORIES & RULES
Every athlete can join a maximum of 3 races + the BCP race. Races will be run by age category and following this competiton format. 200m Races are only for Small Boats, whilst 500m are for Standard boats.
500 M > ALL CREWS (OPEN, WOMAN, MIXED)Premier,Senior & Master – Standard Boats

DB12 > MINIMUM OF 5 WOMAN PADDING. Drummer & helm can be of either gender.
DB22 > MINIMUM OF 10 WOMEN PADDLING. Drummer & helm can be of either gender.

You will be asked for general information of your Team and to pay a 400€/crew
The registration fee per participant will be different depending on when your team makes the online registration and DEPOSIT. There will be 3 different time slots. If after registering, you don’t book the accommodation with us, the higher registration fee per participant will be charged.
You will also be asked to fill an accommodation form with the options your
crew would like and therefore we can send you a proposal for your team.
We are specialists with organizing pre and post
touring of our area. There will be a number of programme proposals on the
website to give you some inspiration, however, a tailor-made trip can also be
